ORDINARY WORLD

1993, July 21st, Lakewood Amphitheatre, Atlanta GE, USA: 1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Ordinary World - 3.Come Undone - 4.Girls On Film - 5.Notorious - 6.Too Much Information - 7.Rio - 8.Crystal Ship - 9.Success
1993, August 18th, Great Western Forum, Los Angeles CA, USA: 10.A View To A Kill - 11.White Lines - 12.The Chauffeur - 13.UMF

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This is a strange bootleg. The first part contains nine ACOUSTIC songs taken off the concert that Duran Duran played in Atlanta and no big surprises are there. The show is similar to the Hollywood part of "Return Return", with the two covers of "Crystal Ship" and "Success" added to the tracklist. The second part of this bootleg features four songs from the ELECTRIC show they played in Los Angeles; "A View To A Kill" and "White Lines" are excellent. This could be your transition boot, from the acoustic to the electric gigs.

LAS VEGAS 93
1993, August 24th, Bally's Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas NV, USA

1.Intro - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Rio - 4.A View To A Kill - 5.Come Undone - 6.White Lines - 7.Girls On Film - 8.Ordinary World - 9.Too Much Information - 10.The Wild Boys
BONUS TRACKS from the LIVE AID: 11.A View To A Kill - 12.Union Of The Snake - 3.Save A Prayer - 4.The Reflex

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This is an excellent radio broadcast of the US summer tour last show. The tracklist is not complete, and the songs are in a different order than the original. The audio quality is great, but this CD has a problem. I believe that the Las Vegas 93 performance is the worst in the "No Ordinary Tour". Simon's voice is particularly bad in "Rio" and "A View To A Kill" and in fact, just eight days later he lost his voice in Rotterdam. As Bonus Tracks you will find the Live Aid performance (July 13th 1985 , JFK Stadium, Philadelphia PA, USA). Here is the most famous Simon's bump, at the end of "A View To A Kill"... The Live Aid is the worst performance they ever played. So, this CD has a great quality and a great historical value (featuring the last US show of the summer 93 tour, and the Live Aid concert), but also contains the worst performances they have ever played (and that Simon ever sung...).

ISTANBUL 93
1993, August 31st, Istanbul, Turkey

CD1: 1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.A View To A Kill - 4.Ordinary World - 5.Come Undone - 6.White Lines - 7.The Chauffeur - 8.Girls On Film
CD2: 1.UMF - 2.Notorious - 3.The Reflex - 4.Rio - 5.Save A Prayer - 6.Love Voodoo - 7.Too Much Information - 8.The Wild Boys

Audio Quality: FAIR TO GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb7/8)
Notes: Duran Duran in Turkey! This is a fair soundboard recording of that concert. "Planet Earth" has some brief editing at the beginning, but this is not very annoying. That night they played "Love Voodoo" live for the first time. The show is very nice, but Simon's voice suffers. This is particularly noticeable in "Notorious", "The Reflex" and "Rio". In fact, the day after, he lost his voice in Rotterdam at the beginning of the show, during "Hungry Like The Wolf". Therefore, this is the last complete show of the electric tour, before the re-starting in October.

ROTTERDAM 93
1993, September 01st, Ahoy Hall, Rotterdam, Netherlands

1.Too Much Information - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Come Undone - 4.Notorious - 5.White Lines - 6.Ordinary World

Audio Quality: FAIRLY POOR AUDIENCE (au6)
Notes: Ok, this is the sadly famous show where Simon lost his voice. The concert starts with "Too Much Information", that is the only song that Simon sings from the beginning to the end; the second one is "Hungry Like The Wolf". At the end of this song, Simon stops the concert and announce that he lost his voice. After some minutes, the band minus Simon come back on the stage, and starts playing "Come Undone": Lamya sings all the rest of the mini-concert (just six songs) and Warren helps her singing all the backing vocals. What a sad thing! Anyway, despite of all these problems, this is an important recording for its historical value; furthermore, you have here the chance to listen to Lamya singing the Duran Duran songs and, of course, you have a rare chance to hear Warren singing!

MTV UNPLUGGED
1993, November 17th, Sony Music Studios, New York NY, USA

1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Ordinary World - 3.Serious - 4.Girls On Film - 5.Rio - 6.Planet Earth - 7.Come Undone - 8.Too Much Information
BONUS TRACKS from "Return Return": 9.Notorious - 10.Crystal Ship - 11.Save A Prayer - 12.The wild Boys

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This is one of the most famous boots of the "No Ordinary Tour" era. It includes the songs aired for the TV broadcast (the video version is also available). Here is a surprise, that is to say a live version of "Serious", played for the first time during the MTV Unplugged Sessions. "Come Undone" and "Notorious" are in the same version included in the "Too Much Information" UK CD single (2-set digipack). "Girls On Film" and "Come Undone" became longer and longer during the tour, and here you will find two great versions of them, with the beautiful Lamya's solos. As Bonus Tracks, you will find four more songs taken off the "Return Return" CD. "Notorious" is instead from the Hollywood 93 show, while "Save A Prayer", "The Wild Boys" and "Crystal Ship" are from the Buenos Aires show. In my opinion, this MTV CD is the definitive unplugged bootleg.

MTV UNPLUGGED UNCUT
1993, November 17th, Sony Music Studios, New York NY, USA

1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Ordinary World - 3.Serious - 4.Girls On Film - 5.Rio - 6.Planet Earth - 7.Come Undone - 8.Too Much Information - 9.Skin Trade (with Nile Rodgers) - 10.The Chauffeur - 11.Notorious
BONUS TRACKS: 12.Crystal Ship - 13.Odinary World - 14.Starting To Remember

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb9)
Notes: Another "MTV Unplugged" bootleg. This version includes three songs that were cut off the TV broadcast. The most interesting part is the acoustic version of "Skin Trade", where Nile Rodgers appears as special guest. This is the first acoustic performance of this song. This CD also includes three bonus tracks, once more in an acoustic version, and performed by Simon and Warren for two radio shows: "Crystal Ship" is taken off a Simon Mayo Radio Show in 1994, the same show where they played the acoustic version of "Ordinary World" that appears in the Italian "Lay Lady Lay" CD single. "Ordinary World" and "Starting To Remember" are recorded on May 25th, 2000 in London, for the BBC Music Live.

EXPOSED

1993, November 17th, Sony Music Studios, New York NY, USA: 1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Ordinary World - 3.Serious - 4.Girls On Film - 5.Rio - 6.Planet Earth - 7.Come Undone
1993, April 30th, Velez Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina: 8.Breath After Breath (with Milton Nascimento)
1981, September 12th, Club Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands: 9.Night Boat - 10.Girls On Film - 11.Planet Earth
1988, World Tour: 12.Get It On - 13.The Reflex - 14.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This is a compilation bootleg released in Italy by the "Backstge" label. It includes seven of the eight songs aired for the MTV Unplugged broadcast, and seven more songs taken off three different shows. I've got all these bootlegs, but this CD is really interesting because it gives you the chance to hear how Duran Duran live music has changed in twelve years, starting from their electric pop (the night versions of "Planet Earth" and "Girls On Film") through to the 93 acoustic style. The fourth part of the CD is from the Manchester 89 boot, and I'm sure about it, even if the sleeve is misprinted ("World Tour 88").

OSAKA 93
1993, December 19th, Castle Sports Arena, Osaka, Japan

CD1: 1.Too Much Information - 2.A View To A Kill - 3.Hungry Like The Wolf - 4.Ordinary World - 5.Serious - 6.White Lines - 7.First Impression - 8.Planet Earth
CD2: 1.Come Undone - 2.Love Voodoo - 3.Girls On Film - 4.UMF - 5.Notorious - 6.The Reflex - 7.Rio

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb9)
Notes: A great bootleg. Here you have the chance to listen to the live version of "First Impression" in very good soundboard quality. Furthermore, you can hear the first "Serious" live version really played during a concert (beforehand, they only played that song during the MTV Unplugged Sessions, at the Sony Music Studios, in November). "The Reflex" and "Rio" are powerful. "Save A Prayer" and "The Wild Boys" are missing in my copy, but actually they were in the setlist, that night.

MINNEAPOLIS 94
1994, January 02nd, Target Centre, Minneapolis MI, USA

CD1: 1.Too Much Information - 2.A View To A Kill - 3.Hungry Like The Wolf - 4.Ordinary World - 5.Serious - 6.White Lines - 7.First Impression - 8.Planet Earth - 9.Come Undone
CD2: 1.Come Undone - 2.Love Voodoo - 3.Girls On Film - 4.Notorious - 5.The Reflex - 6.Rio - 7.Save A Prayer - 8.The Wild Boys

Audio Quality: GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb8) or EXCELLENT AUDIENCE (au10)
Notes: This is an excellent bootleg, that contains a full show of the electric tour. In my opinion, this concert is one of the best performances of this tour. "Ordinary World" is excellent! All the "not in every boot" songs are here, and that is "Serious", "First Impression", and "Love Voodoo". Simon's voice is fantastic. A worth having CD, of course. The only problem in this boot is that the beautiful Lamya's backing vocals at the end of "Come Undone" and the final part of "The Wild Boys" are cut out.

FAIRFAX 94
1994, January 09th, Patriot Centre, Fairfax VA, USA

CD1: 1.Intro - 2.Too Much Information - 3.A View To A Kill - 4.Hungry Like The Wolf - 5.Ordinary World - 6.SKin Trade - 7.White Lines - 8.First Impression - 9.Planet Earth
CD2: 1.Love Voodoo - 2.Girls On Film - 3.Notorious - 4.The Reflex - 5.Rio - 6.Band Introduction - 7.Save A Prayer - 8.The Wild Boys

Audio Quality: GOOD AUDIENCE (au8)
Notes: A regular show, for completists. The only noticeable thing is that the guys restart two times "A View To A Kill", and the second time they open the song with the 007 tune that they used to play during the Electric Teatre shows, back in '89. Nice! Simon's performance is good.

WEMBLEY 94
1994, January 28th, Wembley Arena, London, UK

CD1: 1.Intro - 2.Too Much Information - 3.A View To A Kill - 4.Hungry Like The Wolf - 5.Ordinary World - 6.SKin Trade - 7.White Lines - 8.First Impression - 9.Planet Earth
CD2: 1.Come Undone - 2.Love Voodoo - 3.Girls On Film - 4.Notorious - 5.The Reflex - 6.Rio - 7.Band Introduction - 8.Save A Prayer - 9.The Wild Boys

Audio Quality: FAIRLY GOOD AUDIENCE (au7/8)
Notes: Every Duran Duran tour after 1983 had a Wembley concert: this is the full recording of the Wembley 94 show. The setlist is the usual one, "Skin Trade" is here replacing "Serious". I really like this song in its acoustic arrangement; the first time the guys played this version of "Skin Trade" was during the session for the MTV Unplugged; as you maybe already know, this performance wasn't aired on the TV broadcast; the first time they played an acoustic "Skin Trade" during a "regular" show, was in New York, on January 11st, at the Radio City Music Hall. So, I think that "Skin Trade" is the highlight of this cd.

BRUXELLES 94
1994, February 04th, Forest National, Bruxelles, Belgium

CD1: 1.Intro - 2.Too Much Information - 3.A View To A Kill - 4.Hungry Like The Wolf - 5.Ordinary World - 6.SKin Trade - 7.White Lines - 8.First Impression - 9.Planet Earth
CD2: 1.Come Undone - 2.Love Voodoo - 3.Girls On Film - 4.Notorious - 5.The Reflex - 6.Rio - 7.Band Introduction - 8.Save A Prayer - 9.The Wild Boys - 10.That Fatal Kiss

Audio Quality: FAIRLY GOOD AUDIENCE (au7/8)
Notes: I taped this double cd from one of my favourite video bootlegs of the No Ordinary Tour; many shows of the 93 acoustic tour were broadcasted on TV (I have the videotapes), but no 94 show was aired somewhere, so this fan shot is the best video recording of the electric tour. The setlist is the usual one, but you will find a little surprise listening to the "band introduction" (cd2 track #7)... Simon sings "Happy Birthday To You" with Lamya and Curtis King! I don't know who was celebrating his birthday that night... didn't anybody tell you? and can anybody tell me?
